Intermediary & Institutional Services >> ISAs & SIPPS >> ISAs

An ISA, or Individual Savings Account, is a wrapper for UK residents to shelter investments from capital and income taxes.

The attraction of ISAs is they allow you create your own tax efficient portfolio. We view them as an integral part of an individual’s investment options.

The tax advantages of ISAs

  1. Any profits made within your ISA are tax-free
  2. Any income withdrawn from your ISA is not deemed ‘income’ for tax purposes and therefore escapes tax

You can subscribe up to £7,200 into a stocks and shares ISA each tax year (2008/2009). You can build your own personal tax haven if you use your allowance every year but if you miss the deadline for investing that year’s allowance is lost forever.

To find the right ISA and integrate these investments into your overall wealth strategy speak to Collins Stewart Wealth Management.

Our ISA can include ordinary stocks and shares in any company listed on the London Stock Exchange, Investment Trusts, Gilts, certain Corporate Bonds and a selection of Unit Trusts and Open Ended Investment Company funds. Collins Stewart only provide a Stocks and Shares ISA.

Features of the Collins Stewart Wealth Management ISA
As an approved plan manager we can offer ISAs to be managed in conjunction with a client's main account.

The ISA will, for Discretionary and Managed Advisory clients, form an integral part of the portfolio and will be managed as part of your main Collins Stewart investment management agreement. For Advisory Non-Managed and Dealing Clients we will view your ISA investments alongside those of your non-ISA holdings.

The benefits of our service include:

  • The opportunity to maximise your tax-efficient investment, by choosing to have administration fees charged outside your ISA.
  • An option to receive income from dividends and interest on a three-monthly basis.
  • Half-yearly valuation and transaction statements. In addition your ISA holdings will be included in the periodic formal valuations provided for the main account.
  • A ‘Rolling’ application under which you can subscribe to the ISA each tax year, without having to complete further application forms (unless you did not subscribe to our ISA in the previous tax year). For Discretionary clients, unless we receive alternative instructions, this will be automatic.
  • A tiered management charge that proportionally reduces the charge the more that is invested, and a capped maximum is applied.

What type of investment guidance do you want for your ISA?
