Martin Bralsford to be Chairman of Collins Stewart (CI) Limited
Collins Stewart is delighted to announce that Martin Bralsford is to be Chairman of Collins Stewart (CI) Limited, the Company’s portfolio management, stockbroking and funds business based in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man.
This appointment is subject to regulatory and board approval. Martin, one of the Channel Islands’ best known and experienced businessmen, will bring an invaluable wealth of knowledge to Collins Stewart.
Martin was the former Chief Executive of C.I. Traders Limited, until recently a UK listed Channel Islands public company with turnover of approximately £330 million and some 3,500 employees engaged in leisure, retail and wholesale distribution and property businesses mainly in the Channel Islands. Prior to that he was Chief Executive of Le Riche Group Limited, and Group Managing Director of Premier Brands Ltd the Grocery Division of Hillsdown Holdings.
Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Pannell Kerr Forster & Co, London in 1970, Martin then obtained a masters degree at the London Business School. In his early career, he held a number of financial and general management appointments in Calor Gas, Rank Group, Smith Kline Beecham and Cadbury Schweppes. He has served as a nonexecutive member of the Boards of a number of other companies including NatWest Offshore Ltd and Lloyds TSB Channel Islands Ltd.
Currently, Martin has Board appointments with the following companies:
- Chairman - Close Brothers Protected VCT plc
- Director - Admiral Holdings Ltd, Guernsey
- Director - Computer Patent Annuities Holdings Limited, Jersey
Martin is an active philanthropist and serves as a Board member of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust headquartered in Jersey, advisor to the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, former President of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce and a former Chairman of the Training and Employment Partnership in Jersey.
